Emma Nicklas-Morris - Women's Swimming and Diving
Freshman Emma Nicklas-Morris of the Carnegie Mellon University women's swimming and diving team set three school records during the team’s competition at the Kenyon College Total Performance Sports Camp Invitational from Thursday, December 1 through Saturday, December 3.
Nicklas-Morris opened the meet on the 800-yard freestyle relay where she led off with a time of 1:51.95 to surpass the previous record of 1:52.14. She finished her swims on Saturday with two records during the preliminary round when she swam the 200-yard breaststroke in 2:21.54 and was the top qualifier in the 200-yard IM when she touched in 2:04.55, nearly a full second better than the previous school record.
In addition to the three events mentioned where Nicklas-Morris surpassed NCAA "B" cut times, the freshman also surpassed provisional qualifying times in the 200-yard butterfly (2:05.31) and the 400-yard IM (4:26.79).
