Stefanie Santo came to Carnegie Mellon in 2018 as the department’s Senior Financial Administrator, then was named Assistant Director of Athletics of Athletics for Business Operations in March of 2022 before being promoted to Associate Director of Athletics for Business Operations and Strategic Initiatives in December 2022.

Santo, oversees a budget in excess of $5 million. She led the effort to reduce the budget to help support the university’s necessary response to COVID-19’s financial impact. Santo works directly with coaches and program directors and makes autonomous decisions related to every aspect of our financial operation. She oversees all department agreements and contracts, including major partnerships related to travel and equipment procurement.

Santo came to Carnegie Mellon after working four years at Dick's Sporting Good. While at Dick's Sporting Good, Santo spent time in a financial training program where she was placed in Internal Auditor and was promoted to Senior Auditor in 2017.

Santo is a 2014 graduate of Penn State where she received her bachelor’s degree in accounting and was a manager for the women's basketball team for four-years.
