Tartan Olympics

Tartan Olympics

In an effort to unite the campus community and promote school spirit through friendly competition, the Student-Athlete Advisory Council developed the Tartan Olympics in 2009. The campus-wide event is open to all students and offers contests in mental, physical and skill-related games. Teams will be comprised of 10-12 members who will pick and choose their events. There is a $500 prize towards the winning team’s organization or charity of their choice, as well as other prizes and giveaways for the runners-up.

The Olympics is held yearly on the first home UAA basketball weekend in January. The first event, a 3-point shootout, takes place during halftime of the men's game on Friday night at 8:00 p.m. while participating teams are welcome to free pizza and beverages beginning at halftime of the women's game which tips off at 6:00 p.m.

On Saturday, the Tartan Olympics will take over the Cohon University Center’s Wiegand Gym from 6-9 p.m. with seven additional events.

To sign up a team, contact SAAC Staff Liaison Shannon Agnew for details.
