How have you used the sports performance team to your advantage while at Carnegie Mellon?

I have been a frequent visitor to the training room throughout my time at CMU. The sports medicine team has helped me through many injuries and general maintenance throughout the season. The strength and conditioning team has also helped our team immensely to prepare for each season.

What do you like best about the strength and conditioning program? Do you have a teammate you like working out with?

My favorite part about the strength and conditioning program is its versatility. Our program is catered to our sports-specific needs as well as what point of the season we’re in. I like working out with Sean Oberman. We lived together in the Summer as well so we were able to stay on track with our strength program together.

How has the sports medicine team helped you stay involved with your team while rehabbing to get you back to competition?

I was rehabbing from knee surgery during my entire Freshman Year. Although I never actually participated in a practice, I always felt completely involved with the team. The sports medicine team would arrive early to the gym to help me through my entire physical therapy session before practice started. Due to this willingness to make time for me every day, I was able to be present and engaged during each practice. If I ever couldn’t make it early, they would incorporate exercises that I could do on the court. Therefore, I was with the team even while doing my own rehab.
