Tartans Celebrate 61 Graduating Student-Athletes

(PITTSBURGH, Pa.) – The Carnegie Mellon University Department of Athletics celebrated the graduation of 61 student-athletes on Sunday, May 17 during the campus-wide ceremony held in Gesling Stadium. In total, more than 3,000 degrees were handed out over the weekend by CMU for the University’s 118th commencement.

The 61 student-athletes graduating have a stellar track record of success. The combined grade-point average of the student-athlete graduates is 3.364 and two are graduating with Fulbright Scholarships.

Of the group, 26 will graduate with degrees from the College of Engineering, 15 from the Dietrich College of Humanities and Social Sciences, nine from the Tepper School of Business, seven from the Mellon College of Science, three from the School of Computer Science and one with a cross discipline degree from the Science and Humanities Scholars Program.
