80 Tartan Student-Athletes Graduate

(PITTSBURGH, Pa.) – The Carnegie Mellon University Department of Athletics celebrated the graduation of 80 student-athletes on Sunday, May 20 during the campus-wide ceremony held in Gesling Stadium. In total, more than 5,000 graduates were recognized over the weekend for the University’s 121st commencement.

The 80 student-athletes graduating have a stellar track record of academic success. The combined grade-point average of the student-athlete graduates is 3.442 with two earning initiation into Phi Beta Kappa while three were named Andrew Carnegie Society Scholars.

Of the group, 31 will graduate with degrees from the College of Engineering, 24 from the Dietrich College of Humanities and Social Sciences, 13 from the Tepper School of Business, nine from the Mellon College of Science, and three from the School of Computer Science.
