Villanueva Supports Tartans With Giving Tuesday Match

(PITTSBURGH, Pa.) - As organizations across the country gear up for an exciting day of philanthropy, the Carnegie Mellon Athletics Department is thrilled to share that Tartan Athletics Club Board of Directors member Alejandro Villanueva has pledged $2,500 to match student-athlete gifts throughout GivingCMUDay, on Tuesday, December 3.

Villanueva, who received his MBA from the Tepper School of Business last spring, also served the United States as an Army Ranger and is a two-time Pro Bowl Offensive Lineman for the Pittsburgh Steelers.

“I am incredibly grateful to Alejandro for his support of the student-athlete experience at Carnegie Mellon,” said Director of Athletics Josh Centor. “He is committed to our program in a number of ways, and inspiring our student-athletes through philanthropy will make quite an impact.”

Villanueva visits with the Carnegie Mellon student-athletes each spring to share leadership lessons he has learned through his time in the military and as a professional athlete. He joined the Tartan Athletics Club Board of Directors this fall.
