Josiah Smith is a senior on the Carnegie Mellon University men’s basketball team from Detroit, Michigan. He began playing basketball in fourth grade but considered it more of a hobby until eighth grade.
Tartans Win Shortened Capitol Hill Classic; Sudjianto Claims Individual Medalist

The Carnegie Mellon University women's golf team competed in the final round of the Capitol Hill Classic on Tuesday in Prattville, Alabama. Inclement weather forced the final round to nine holes for a total of a 27-hole event. The Tartans carded a team score of six-under par 138 over the final nine holes to win the 27-hole event with a score of 443 (+11).

Senior Amanda Smith has been honored as the University Athletic Association (UAA) Softball Pitcher of the Week for her performance during three doubleheaders for the Carnegie Mellon University softball team from March 20 through March 24.
Duckworth Named UAA Field Athlete of the Week

Sophomore Christian Duckworth of the Carnegie Mellon University men’s outdoor track and field team was named University Athletic Association (UAA) Athlete of the Week for field events. The sophomore earns the honor following his performance at the West Virginia Stan Romanoski Open this past Saturday.
Xu Garners Second Straight UAA Golfer of the Week Honor

For the second consecutive week, senior Brian Xu of the Carnegie Mellon University men’s golf team was named University Athletic Association (UAA) Men’s Golf Athlete of the Week. This week, Xu garners the accolade following his performance in the 54-hole Jekyll Island Collegiate played at King and Prince Golf Course in St. Simons Island, Georgia.
Tartans Sit a Top Leaderboard at Capitol Hill Classic Following Opening Round

The Carnegie Mellon University women's golf team opened play in the first round of the Capitol Hill Classic on Monday in Prattville, Alabama. The Tartans carded a team score of 305 and are currently lead the field of 12 teams.

Tartans Split Doubleheader at Mount Union

The Carnegie Mellon University softball team traveled to The University of Mount Union for a doubleheader on Sunday, March 24. The Tartans won the first game, 7-4, and lost the second game, 12-4. The Tartans are now 6-6 for the year while Mount Union moves to 13-2.
Tartans Place Second at Jekyll Island Collegiate

The Carnegie Mellon University men's golf team ended the 54-hole Jekyll Island Collegiate Sunday with a final round score of 299. For the second straight year, the Tartans finished second in a field of 30 teams after having a 54-hole score of 875 (297-279-299).
Tartans Earn More Awards, Place Eighth at NCAA Championships

The Carnegie Mellon University men’s swimming and diving team finished competition at the 2024 NCAA Division III Swimming and Diving Championships on Saturday, March 23 with another All-American performance by freshman Brayden Morford and placed eighth with 161 team points. The eighth-place finish marks the best finish for the program since 2005 when the team was sixth.
