PITTSBURGH, Pa. – The Carnegie Mellon University football team will travel to Meadville, Pa. to play the Gators of Allegheny College on Saturday, September 8, at 3:30 p.m. on the turf of Frank B. Fuhrer Field. It will mark the 52nd contest between the two schools.

Last season, Allegheny came into Pittsburgh and defeated the Tartans 33-13 for its third straight victory in the Steel City.  After a 12-year hiatus in the series, it continued in 2007 with the Gators winning four of the last five meetings. The Tartans still lead the all-time series 30-19-2.  The first meeting between the two schools was in 1906 when then Carnegie Tech defeated Allegheny by the score of 5-0.  The two teams have combined for 19 shutouts, including a 0-0 tie in 1917. The Tartans hold the shutout advantage with 14.

Carnegie Mellon is coming off a 23-20 victory over Grove City, while Allegheny defeated Wooster 17-14.  Both teams put together come-from-behind victories last Saturday.

There will be a live telecast for Saturday's contest.  Locally it can be viewed on the CW Network. Fans with Dish Network will be able to view the game in high definition through Dish Network's multi-sport package by tuning in to Fox's Regional sports networks. A specific channel will not be assigned until 48 hours prior to the broadcast, but the channel range is 411-426. DIRECTV is similar (Fox Regional sports networks) with additional programming on channels 617 and 623. The game will also be on ESPN 3.
