(PITTSBURGH, Pa.) – The Carnegie Mellon University football team will host Catholic University on Friday, September 14 on White Out Night at Gesling Stadium in Pittsburgh, Pa.  The game is set to start at 7:00 p.m.

Last season the teams met on the gridiron for the first time since the 1993 season and the Cardinals of Catholic defeated the Tartans in come-from-behind fashion, 29-28, in our nation's capital.  The win for Catholic marked the first in the series for them, as the Tartans lead 2-1.  In 1992, Carnegie Mellon defeated Catholic by the score of 28-12 in D.C. The following season, the Cardinals traveled to Pittsburgh where the Tartans won 55-0.

Carnegie Mellon will enter the contest with a 2-0 mark after defeating Grove City College 23-20 in week one and winning 37-7 last week at Allegheny College.  The Tartans will look to start the season winning their first three games for the eighth time under head coach Rich Lackner. Catholic will come to Gesling Stadium with a record of 1-1.  The Cardinals lost 47-27 to longtime foe Gallaudet University last week after handing McDaniel College a 45-28 setback in week one.
