(PITTSBURGH, Pa.) - The Carnegie Mellon University football team will travel to Crawfordsville, Ind., Saturday, September 29 to play the 17th-ranked Wabash Little Giants at 2:00 p.m.  This marks the second straight week that the Tartans are facing an opponent for the first time in school history.

Last week the Tartans defeated DePauw University 51-28 and were once again led by the arm of junior quarterback Rob Kalkstein (Monroeville, Pa./Gateway).  Kalkstein passed for a career-high 314 yards on 12-of-15 passing and tossed three touchdowns.  He became the first Tartan to pass for 300 yards in a game in 19 years (September 18, 1993).  Sophomore wide receiver Timothy Swanson (Millburn, N.J.) and junior fullback Zachary Erra-Hernandez (Las Cruces, N.M./Onate) also turned in career-performances in the win.  Swanson had touchdown receptions of 83 and 40 yards while hauling down four receptions for a career-high 153 yards.  Erra-Hernandez led the Tartan rushing attack with a career-high 116 yards and three scores on 14 carries.

Wabash dropped an overtime contest to Allegheny College 20-17 in Crawfordsville marking the first setback for the Little Giants at home in 14 games.  In the loss, junior running back Tyler Holmes had 108 yards on 18 carries including a 27-yard touchdown run for Wabash. Earlier this season, Carnegie Mellon defeated Allegheny 37-7.

Carnegie Mellon is seeking its fifth straight victory and a 5-0 start for the fourth time under head coach Rich Lackner.  Wabash enters the game with a 2-1 mark in 2012.
