(PITTSBURGH, Pa.) – The Carnegie Mellon University football team returns home Saturday, November 2 for the first time since September after playing three straight road games. The Tartans will host Washington University in St. Louis in a University Athletic Association (UAA) showdown.  The contest will mark the UAA opener for both teams.  

Carnegie Mellon is 14-9 in UAA openers, while Washington is 17-6 with all six losses coming to the Tartans.  When the teams meet Saturday, it will mark the 31st meeting with the series deadlocked at 15.  The game will also feature two of the top-10 active winningest coaches in Division III.  Tartans head coach Rich Lackner ranks fourth with 184 wins while Bears leader Larry Kindbom is sixth with 181 career wins.

Last week, the 3-4 overall Tartans were idle while the Bears improved to 5-2 after defeating Macalester College, 7-0, Saturday afternoon in St. Paul, Minnesota.  

Kick is slated for 12:00 p.m. on the turf of Gesling Stadium.
