(PITTSBURGH, Pa.) – The Carnegie Mellon University football team will travel north on I-79 to New Wilmington, Pennsylvania, for a 1:00 p.m. kickoff Saturday, October 3 against the Titans of Westminster College. Carnegie Mellon is coming off a 35-7 victory at Geneva College this past Saturday, snapping its nine game road skid.  

It will mark the 35th meeting when the teams meet on the gridiron Saturday with the Titans hold the series lead, 17-16-1.  Last season the Tartans defeated the Titans, 27-24, in Pittsburgh on a school-record 50-yard field goal by Tyler Kohman as time expired.  The first meeting saw Westminster win 12-0 in 1907. In the 34 meetings, there have been 18 shutouts with the Tartans holding the edge 11-7.

Carnegie Mellon, who is 1-2 overall 1-1 in Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) play, will look to win its second straight contest.  Westminster enters the contest with a 2-2, 1-1 mark and is coming off a 45-14 setback at home to No. 12 Thomas More.
