Football Returns to Gesling Stadium to Play Saint Vincent

(PITTSBURGH, Pa.) - The Carnegie Mellon University football team returns home to play the Bearcats of Saint Vincent College on Saturday, October 24 in a Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) contest.  The Tartans will enter the contest with a 3-3 overall record and a 3-2 mark in PAC play.

Carnegie Mellon is coming off its first shutout since 2007 after winning 44-0 at Grove City October 17.  The Bearcats, who are 3-3 overall and 2-2 in PAC play, enter Gesling Stadium after dropping a 42-28 decision at No. 12 Thomas More last Saturday.  
    
When the two teams collide Saturday it will mark the 11th time with Saint Vincent leading the series 5-4-1. Carnegie Mellon defeated the Bearcats 34-7 in Latrobe two years ago, as it marked the first meeting since 1962, which was the last year of Bearcats football for 45 years.  Last season, Saint Vincent came away with a 38-31 victory in Latrobe to regain the series edge.  The two teams first met on the gridiron in 1953 with a 13-7 Tartan victory.
