Football Takes Three-Game Winning Streak to Thiel

(PITTSBURGH, Pa.) - The Carnegie Mellon University football team will seek its fourth straight victory on Saturday, October 31 when the Tartans travel to Greenville, Pa., to play the Tomcats of Thiel College.  The Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) matchup concludes the Tartans' road schedule and kicks off at 7:00 p.m.  
    
On Saturday the teams will collide on the gridiron for the 42nd time with the Tartans leading the series 28-11-2. Last season, Thiel traveled to Pittsburgh and left with a 40-27 victory.  Prior to last year, the last meeting was in 2006 as Carnegie Mellon was victorious, 14-7, in Greenville.  The two teams first-ever meeting was in 1915, as the Tartans of Carnegie Tech defeated Thiel 25-0.  Carnegie Mellon outscored Thiel 239-0 in the first six contests, as the Tomcats lost the first 14 meetings.  Thiel got its first victory in 1966 when the Tomcats defeated the Tartans 14-7.

Carnegie Mellon will enter the contest with a 4-3 overall record and a 4-2 mark in PAC play while the Tomcats are 1-6, 0-5.
