Khoury Competes in Four Postseason Bowls

(PITTSBURGH, Pa.) – Senior defensive end Brian Khoury (Davenport, Iowa/Bettendorf) of the Carnegie Mellon University football team participated in four postseason collegiate bowl games, in preparation for what he hopes translates to play at the next level.

"Brian was an incredible football player for us the past four years," said Carnegie Mellon head coach Rich Lackner. "He was a dominant defensive end for us and will go down as one of our best defensive lineman in school history."

On December 4, Khoury competed in the National Bowl at Daytona Beach Municipal Stadium in Daytona Beach, Florida. Two weeks later, he played in the Collegiate Development Football League (CDFL) FCS Senior Bowl in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina where he was named Defensive Co-Most Valuable Player. The next day he participated in the CDFL Euro American Challenge in Myrtle Beach. On January 15, he was back in Daytona Beach where he played in the FBS Tropical Bowl.

Khoury finished his senior campaign at Carnegie Mellon as an All-South Region third team selection by D3football.com, a first team All- Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) selection, UAA Defensive Player of the Year and Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) South First Team member. He led the PAC and University Athletic Association (UAA) while ranking fifth nationally with 12.5 sacks.  Khoury became the school's all-time sack leader during his senior season and finished his career with 29.5 sacks. He totaled 16.0 tackles for a loss of 90 yards and ended the season with 55 total tackles, 31 solo, two forced fumbles and a fumble recovery.
