Former Tartan Football Coach Chuck Klausing Passes Away at 92

Former Carnegie Mellon University football coach Chuck Klausing died on February 15 in Indiana, Pennsylvania. Klausing, who served as head coach from 1976–1985, compiled a 77-15-2 overall record at the helm of the Tartans. Klausing was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame in 1998. He was 92.

41 Carnegie Mellon Football Players Recognized on PAC Academic Fall Honor Roll

The Carnegie Mellon University football team landed 41 members on the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Academic Honor Roll for the Fall 2017 semester. For the fourth consecutive fall, the Tartans had the most football players honored amongst the 11 schools that sponsor football in the PAC. Of the 41, 20 maintained a perfect 4.0 GPA during the first semester.

Two members of the Carnegie Mellon University football team, senior punter Tyler Kohman (Pataskala, Ohio/Columbus Academy) and senior safety Drew Fitzmorris (Omaha, Neb./Westside), were named 2017 D3football.com All-Americans when the team was announced prior to the 2017 Stagg Bowl in Salem, Virginia, Friday, December 15. Both seniors landed a spot on the second team, as this marks Fitzmorris’ second honor from the organization after being named honorable mention following his sophomore season.
