(SALEM, Va.) – Two members of the Carnegie Mellon University football team, senior punter Tyler Kohman (Pataskala, Ohio/Columbus Academy) and senior safety Drew Fitzmorris (Omaha, Neb./Westside), were named 2017 D3football.com All-Americans when the team was announced prior to the 2017 Stagg Bowl in Salem, Virginia, Friday, December 15. Both seniors landed a spot on the second team, as this marks Fitzmorris' second honor from the organization after being named honorable mention following his sophomore season.

Kohman, who was recently named All-America by the American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) and The Associated Press (AP), was the University Athletic Association (UAA) Special Teams Player of the Year, a Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) First Team member, a D3football.com All-South Region First Team honoree and a member of the Division III All-Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) team.

Kohman ended his senior campaign as the top punter in the PAC and UAA with an average of 45.7 yards per punt, which ranked second nationally and set the program's single-season record. Kohman had 16 punts of 50 yards or more including a career-best 62-yarder. Kohman placed 21 of his 45 punts inside the opponents' 20-yard line. He leaves Carnegie Mellon as the program's leader in punts and yards per punt for a career. He recorded 209 punts in his four years for an average of 41.2 yards per punt.

Fitzmorris, who was selected to the D3football.com All-South Region First Team, first team All-PAC, the UAA Defensive Player of the Year and a member of the Division III All-Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) team, led the UAA and was second in the PAC with 102 tackles, averaging 9.3 tackles per game. He tied the school's single-game record with 22 tackles against Geneva College and then recorded a career-best 13 solo tackles against Westminster College. Fitzmorris ended his career ranked fourth on the school's all-time tackle list with 247.

This is the 19th annual D3football.com All-America team, one of two recognized by the NCAA for inclusion in their record book along with the American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) All-America team.
