Waynesburg's Jenner, Carnegie Mellon's Lohmeier named PAC SAAC Scholar Athletes for November

GREENVILLE, Pa. (pacathletics.org)--Waynesburg University senior Teagan Jenner (Berlin, Pa. | Berlin Brothersvalley) and Carnegie Mellon University senior Michael Lohmeier (Clarendon Hills, Ill. | Hinsdale Central) were named the Presidents’ Athletic Conference (PAC) Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) Scholar-Athletes of the Month for November.

Each month, the SAAC’s at PAC member institutions are asked to nominate one male and one female student-athlete for PAC SAAC Scholar-Athlete of the Month consideration based on academic and athletic accomplishments. Nominees must be varsity team members in their respective sport and in their junior or senior year. Scholar-Athlete of the Month nominees must also have a cumulative grade-point average (GPA) of 3.0 or higher and be actively involved within their campus communities.

Jenner started all 68 matches during her career as a member of Waynesburg's women's soccer program. A team captain in 2019, she started all 17 matches for the Yellow Jackets and was named to the All-PAC Second Team on Nov. 14. She was also named to this year's PAC Sportsmanship Team. 

Jenner posted a team-high 11 points on three goals and five assists last season. Her five assists were tied for the fifth-most in the PAC. 

A six-time Dean’s List honoree, Jenner has earned a spot on the PAC’s Academic Honor Roll three times. She is an active member of the Kappa Mu Epsilon mathematics honorary and served as an instructor at the CODE 4 STEM Academy last summer at the University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown.

Jenner is currently serving as the vice president of the PAC SAAC. She also completed a semester-long internship with the PAC during the fall of 2018.

On campus, Jenner has served as the president of Waynesburg’s SAAC and worked as both a tutor and lab assistant in the Department of Mathematics, Computer Science and Physics. Active with the University’s Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) ministry, she has volunteered with the Greene County Community Service department and its Compass Program, an afterschool program providing tutoring and soft skills training to middle school and high school students. She also volunteered at Bethany College’s first-ever on-campus Special Olympics event in September.

A mathematics major, Jenner carries a 3.98 cumulative GPA. She is also pursuing minors in both computer science and financial mathematics. Jenner has been accepted into the G.W.C. Whiting School of Engineering at Johns Hopkins University and will begin a master’s program in data science this spring.

Lohmeier, a 2019 captain of Carnegie Mellon’s football program, was named a semifinalist for the 2019 William V. Campbell Trophy, presented by Mazda, on Sept. 25. On Oct. 30, he was announced as one of the 12 finalists for the 30th Annual Campbell Trophy, an award recognizing an individual as the absolute best football scholar-athlete in the nation for his combined academic success, football performance and exemplary leadership. He was the lone finalist from NCAA Division III.

As a finalist for the Campbell Trophy, Lohmeier traveled to New York City on Dec. 10 for the 62nd Annual National Football Foundation (NFF) & College Hall of Fame Awards Dinner. He also received an $18,000 postgraduate scholarship as a member of this year’s NFF National Scholar-Athlete Class.

A three-time College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-American, Lohmeier was named to both the All-PAC First Team and PAC Sportsmanship Team on Nov. 19. He was an Honorable Mention All-PAC selection in 2017 and 2018. Lohmeier has earned PAC Academic Honor Roll distinction three times. 

Lohmeier was named to the D3football.com All-South Region Third Team on Dec. 10. He led the PAC this season with a school-record 22.5 tackles for a loss, which currently rank eighth in Division III. He also totaled 60 tackles (30 solo), 9.0 sacks and two forced fumbles. Lohmeier’s 20.0 career sacks rank fourth in program history.

Last summer Lohmeier was an investment banking analyst at Lazard in New York City. He has also worked as a market research analyst for the University of Chicago’s Polsky Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation. During the summer of 2018 Lohmeier worked as an equity research analyst for Robotti & Company in New York City.

Lohmeier is the president of Carnegie Mellon's Investment Banking Academy, an organization that assists underclassmen land investment banking internships through interactive workshops, interview preparation and the club's mentorship program.

Lohmeier has volunteered at the Western Spring Sectional competition of the Special Olympics of Pennsylvania and is currently serving as the liaison for the football team’s annual calendar fundraiser benefiting the Pittsburgh Children's Hospital. He is an undergraduate analyst intern for Scottie Ventures and a member of the Alpha Sigma Phi fraternity, where he has worked as both philanthropy and fundraising chair. He was recently inducted into the Beta Gamma Sigma business honorary and is also a member of Phi Kappa Phi, the nation’s oldest all-discipline honorary.

A business administration major, Lohmeier carries a 4.0 cumulative GPA.
