Vasiliadis Named PAC Offensive Player of the Week; Arcia Honored by D3football.com

(PITTSBURGH, Pa.) – Carnegie Mellon University sophomore running Tre Vasiliadis (Great Falls, Va./Langley), was named Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Offensive Player of the Week while junior corner back Kevin Arcia (Doral, Fla./Doral Academy Charter) was recognized nationally on the D3football.com Team of the Week for his play on defense. The honors come after the Tartans' 34-10 upset win over 24th-ranked Westminster College Saturday, October 9.

Vasiliadis tabbed his second career 100-yard game as he finished the night with 163 yards on 34 carries and two touchdowns. On the Tartans final possession that was an 11-play, 89-yard drive that took 7:02 off the clock, Vasiliadis touched the ball eight times for 57 yards and scored on a 1-yard run to seal the win with two minutes to play. He currently leads the PAC in rushing with 689 yards, 114.8 yards per game, and is second with 10 rushing touchdowns.

Arcia played a huge factor for the defense that held the Titans to six rushing yards and forced four turnovers. The junior recorded a career-best eight tackles, seven solo, while adding a career-high three pass breakups and forcing a fumble.

The Tartans are idle this Saturday before entertaining the Tomcats of Thiel College on Saturday, October 23 at 1:00 p.m.
