Robert Coury Named PAC Defensive Player of the Week, Honored by D3football.com

(PITTSBURGH, Pa.) – Carnegie Mellon University junior Robert Coury (Phillipsburg, N.J. / Phillipsburg) was named Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Defensive Player of the Week and landed a spot on the D3football.com Team of the Week following his play Saturday in the Tartans' 27-20 win at Waynesburg University.

Coury headed the Cardinal and Gray defense with 11 tackles, including a career-high nine solo. He also registered 6.0 tackles for loss, 2.0 sacks, a forced fumble and a pass breakup in Saturday's win at John F. Wiley Stadium in Waynesburg. It is the first 6.0 tackle for loss game by a PAC player since 2019. Coury's pass breakup came on a 3rd-and-7 play at the Tartans' 11-yard line, forcing a Waynesburg field goal that tied the game at 13-13 with 9:30 to go in the third quarter.

Carnegie Mellon, ranked 20th in the latest D3football.com poll, will travel to Washington & Jefferson College on Saturday, October 15. Kick is set for 1:00 p.m.
