Henry and Howarth Named to the All-UAA Men’s Basketball Team

(ROCHESTER, N.Y.) – Senior Seth Henry (Fulton, Md./Reservoir) and junior Zach Howarth (Freehold, N.J./St. John Vianney) of the Carnegie Mellon University men's basketball team were named to the All-University Athletic Association (UAA) Men's Basketball Team when the Association announced its postseason accolades on Thursday. Henry was named to the first team while Howarth found a spot on the second team. This marks Howarth's second All-UAA honor, as he also appeared on the second team a year ago.

Henry led the Tartans in rebounding averaging 8.2 boards per game while ranking second on the team averaging 16.1 points per game. He ranks third in the UAA in rebounding and sixth in scoring. Henry shot 59.9% from the floor, which ranked fourth best in a single-season in program history. His field goal percentage ranked third in the UAA and 37th nationally. The senior ranked second in the association behind Howarth in free throws made and attempted, converting 89-of-109 for the third best free throw percentage of 81.7%. Henry ended the season with six double-doubles giving him 12 for his career. In 20 of the 23 games he played, he recorded double figures while recording 20 points or more in eight.

Howarth led the Tartans and finished second in the UAA averaging 16.6 points per game. He recorded seven 20-point games this season, four coming in UAA play, including a career-best 29 points at the University of Chicago. The junior led the UAA in free throws made and attempted, converting 105-of-144 for 72.9%. Howarth also tabbed single-game career-highs in rebounds and assists this season when he hauled down nine boards at La Roche and handed out six assists against Mount Union. Howarth needs 88 points to become the 20th Tartan to reach the 1,000-point milestone.
