(PITTSBURGH, Pa.) - The Carnegie Mellon University men's basketball team pushed its winning streak to four games with a 101-57 victory against Geneva College on Monday evening on its home court of Wiegand Gymnasium. The game marked the third time the Tartans have scored more than 100 points this season but the first time it happened in regulation. The Tartans are now 6-2 for the season while Geneva dropped to 4-4.

The scoring was spread out amongst the Tartans with five players finishing in double digits. Junior Sean Oberman (Flemington, N.J. / Hunterdon Central) led with 15 points, junior Josh Berry (Western Springs, Ill. / Lyons Township) scored 14, junior Nick Nakasian (Powell, Ohio / Olentangy Liberty) had 12 and sophomores R.J. Senior Charlie Tripp (Cincinnati, Ohio / Mariemont) dished out a career-best seven assists to go with five points off the bench.

Carnegie Mellon had its best shooting performance of the season, connecting at a 56.6% clip for the game. Their 10 three-pointers was the third most of the season, with Oberman scoring all of his points from behind the arc with a season-high five triples.

Geneva led 9-7 nearly four minutes into the game after a three-pointer by Trevor Tipton but two possessions later, Oberman drilled his second triple to give the Tartans a 10-9 lead which they stretched to 17-9 over a two-minute span. That eight-point lead became 11 points on an and-one play by Berry before the Tartans held a 15-point led on two occasions until the Golden Tornadoes finished the first-half scoring with a pair of free throws to make it a 40-27 Tartan lead.

The Tartans shot 45.9% from the floor for the half and only turned the ball over four times. They were even better in the second frame with just three turnovers and a hot hand of 66.7% shooting. Their largest lead of 44 points came toward the end when senior Will Powell (Kansas City, Mo. / Pembroke Hill) connected on a three-pointer for the final score of 101-57.

It was a complete game by the Tartans who recorded other season-bests of 27 assists and 13 steals to go with a season-low of seven turnovers. They pressured Geneva into 21 turnovers and converted them into 31 points.
