Bio

Kyle Goldcamp returns to the bench of the Tartans for the 2017-18 season after taking last year off. This will mark his third season on staff as he works primarily with the post players.

Goldcamp was part of the basketball team at the University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown before playing two seasons at Gannon University.  During his time as a Golden Knight, Goldcamp was named Street & Smith’s Preseason All-America Honorable-Mention, All-Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) First Team and GLIAC All-Defensive Team.  He ranks second all-time at Gannon in field-goal percentage (.626), fourth in blocked shots (115), sixth in scoring average (16.7) and 33rd in scoring (904). During his senior season he helped lead Gannon to the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Championship in the school’s inaugural season as a PSAC member and an appearance in the NCAA Division II Elite Eight.

Following his collegiate playing career, Goldcamp went on to play four seasons for the Erie Bayhawks, a member of the National Basketball Association (NBA) D-League.  In four seasons, he played in 159 games averaging 8.3 points and 5.8 rebounds per game and shot 55.4% from the floor.

The Pittsburgh native and 2004 graduate of Central Catholic High School earned a Bachelor of Science degree in biology from Gannon in 2009.  Goldcamp completed his master’s in education in 2011 from Gannon.   He currently is the Director of Campus Ministry at Central Catholic.

“Having been a successful college player with multiple academic awards, Kyle knows exactly what our guys are going through as student-athletes,” said head coach Tony Wingen. “This enables him to relate to them as a teacher and mentor and we are excited to have him on our staff.”

Goldcamp resides in Point Breeze, Pa. with his wife Jessica.
