Tartans First After 18-holes at Guy Kuhn Invitational

(MEADVILLE, Pa.) - The Carnegie Mellon University men's golf team competed at the first day of the annual Guy W. Kuhn Invitational hosted at the par 72 The Country Club of Meadville by Allegheny College.  The Tartans are currently in first-place after carding a team score of 300.

The host Gators are second with a 303 followed by Rochester and Kenyon with a 304 to round out the top three places in a field of 16 teams.  

The Tartans were led by sophomore Ben DuCarme (McMurray, Pa./Canon-McMillan) with a round of one-over par 73. Freshman George Qian (Bettendorf, Iowa/Montverde Academy) carded a 75 while senior Ian Bangor (Moon Township, Pa./Sewickley Academy) and freshman Ryan Karbowicz (Avon, Conn.) each carded a round of 76.  Junior Cameron Low (Los Angeles, Calif./Windward) ended Sunday with an 88.

Carnegie Mellon had one individual enter the invitational, as freshman Alex Woodward (Aurora, Ontario) had a round of 79.

Day two continues tomorrow with the first group teeing off at 8:30 a.m.
