Bangor Heads Tartans to Second Place at Mercyhurst Invitational

(ERIE, Pa.) – The Carnegie Mellon University men's golf team ended the Mercyhurst University Fall Invitational with a team score of 610 to place second at the two-day, 36-hole event that finished play on Monday.  The University of Toronto had the won the vent with a score of 584 on the par 72 Lake View Country Club.
    
Senior Ian Bangor (Moon Township, Pa./Sewickley Academy) shot three-over par 75 on Monday to finish with a 151, placing ninth as an individual. Sophomore Ben DuCarme (McMurray, Pa./Canon-McMillan) and freshman George Qian (Bettendorf, Iowa/Montverde Academy) each had a 36-hole score of 153.  DuCarme shot a 72-81 while Qian had rounds of 75 and 78.

Freshman Ryan Karbowicz (Avon, Conn.) carded a 155 (75-80) while junior Cameron Low (Los Angeles, Calif./Windward) ended the invitational with a 157 (78-79).  Carnegie Mellon had one individual enter the invitational, as Justin Fischler (Avon, Conn.) had rounds of 78 and 80 to finish with a 158.

The Tartans will conclude their fall season on Thursday, October 10 when they host the Carnegie Mellon Fall Invitational. Play is set to begin at 10:00 a.m.
