Bangor Wins Third Straight Carnegie Mellon Fall Invitational

(PITTSBURGH, Pa.) – For the third straight season, senior Ian Bangor (Moon Township, Pa./Sewickley Academy) was crowned the top individual medalist at the annual Carnegie Mellon University Fall Invitational. Bangor's even par 70 led the Carnegie Mellon University men's golf team to a first-place team finish at the invitational Thursday, October 10 at the Longue Vue Club as the team carded a 302.  Bangor's top finish marked the 10th medalist honor of his career.

Sophomore Ben DuCarme (McMurray, Pa./Canon-McMillan) entered the clubhouse with a 75.  Two stroke behind the sophomore was freshman George Qian (Bettendorf, Iowa/Montverde Academy) with a 77 followed by junior Cameron Low (Los Angeles, Calif./Windward) and freshman Ryan Karbowicz (Avon, Conn.) who each carded 80.

Carnegie Mellon also had six individuals play on Thursday with junior Justin Fischler (Avon, Conn.) leading the way with a three-over par 73 to place second overall as an individual. Junior Derek Cobb (Urbana, Ohio) tied for eighth overall with a 77 and one stroke behind Cobb was freshman Bradley Jennette (Pittsford, N.Y./Sutherland) with a 78.
    
Freshman Alexander Pomerantz (Warren, N.J./Watchung Hills Regional) carded a round of 80 followed be freshmen Alex Woodward (Aurora, Ontario) and Jordan Klodowski (Kittanning, Pa.) with rounds of 82 and 88, respectively.
