Nick Dunn Named Men’s Golf Coach

(PITTSBURGH, Pa.) – Carnegie Mellon University Director of Athletics Josh Centor has named Nick Dunn head men's golf coach. Dunn will replace 29-year veteran Rich Erdelyi, who announced his retirement in the fall to take place at the conclusion of this season. Dunn will also serve as the assistant women's golf coach which will play on the varsity level starting in the fall of 2014. Dunn will officially start his duties at the beginning of the fall season.

"We are thrilled to welcome Nick to Carnegie Mellon as the next leader of our men's golf program," Centor said. "He is an outstanding teacher of the game and will continue the tradition of excellence that Coach Erdelyi has established over the last three decades."

Dunn has been an assistant golf professional at the Longue Vue Club in Verona, Pennsylvania, since 2009. He has also worked at the Ace Club in Lafayette Hills, Pennsylvania, and Pine Crest Country Club in Lansdale, Pennsylvania. Over the course of his career, Dunn has been a teacher, administrator and golf instructor. He has developed expertise in course management, club fittings and supervising tournaments through his role at Longue Vue, which has been the home of Carnegie Mellon golf for years.

I consider it a privilege and an honor to be a part of the Carnegie Mellon Athletics team."

A 2011 graduate of California University of Pennsylvania, Dunn received a Bachelor of Science degree in sport management, specializing in professional golf management.  He also earned a minor in business administration.   

Dunn currently is in the process of becoming a Class A PGA Professional.
