Tartans Win Annual Fall Invitational

(PITTSBURGH, Pa.) – The Carnegie Mellon University men's golf team hosted its annual fall invitational on Wednesday, October 8 and carded a 309 to win the five-team tournament.  The 18-hole event was held at the Longue Vue Club. Jorden Alfery from Grove City College was the individual medalist shooting a five-over par 75.    

The Tartans carded rounds of 77, seniors Cameron Low (Los Angeles, Calif./Windward) and Justin Fischler (Avon, Conn.) along with sophomore George Qian (Bettendorf, Iowa/Montverde Academy) to lead the Tartans. Sophomore Brad Jennette (Pittsford, N.Y./Sutherland) ended Wednesday carding a 78 while sophomore Jordan Klodowski (Kittanning, Pa.) rounded out the Tartans with an 85.
    
Carnegie Mellon had six individuals enter the invitational with freshman John Schlonsky (Mount Sinai, N.Y.) leading the group with an 86.  Sophomore Ryan Karbowicz (Avon, Conn.) fired an 87 while junior Ben DuCarme (McMurray, Pa./Canon-McMillan) came in one stroke behind DuCarme with an 88.  Freshman Adrian Del Bosque (Monterrey, Mexico/IMG Academy) shot an 89 as fellow freshman Nikhil Mohan (Bangalore, India/Canadian International School) and sophomore Alexander Pomerantz (Warren, N.J./Watchung Hills Regional) carded rounds of 90 and 92, respectively.

The Tartans will be off until the spring with their first competition at the University Athletic Association Championships March 8-9 in Sorrento, Florida at Red Tail Country Club.
