Tartans Finish Sixth at Mason-Dixon Collegiate Classic

(ABBOTTSTOWN, Pa.) – The Carnegie Mellon University men's golf team improved nine strokes on Sunday afternoon at the final round of the Mason-Dixon Collegiate Classic to finish with a team score of 607 (308-299).  The Tartans 607 placed them sixth of 15 teams that competed at the classic.  The two-day, 36-hole tournament is being played at the par-72 The Bridges Golf Club

Allegheny won the classic with a 36-hole score of 591 (296-295). Allegheny's Jesse Clemente was the individual medalist after carding a one-under par 143 with rounds of 74 and 69.  

Sophomore Nikhil Mohan (Bangalore, India/Canadian International School) led the Tartans with a seventh-place finish after firing a season-low round on Sunday of one-over par 73.  For the two rounds, Mohan shot a 148.  Junior George Qian (Bettendorf, Iowa/Montverde Academy) along with freshman Austin Lin (Los Gatos, Calif./Archbishop Mitty) ended the classic both carding 154.

Juniors Brad Jennette (Pittsford, N.Y./Sutherland) and Jordan Klodowski (Kittanning, Pa.) shot 157 and 160, respectively.  On Sunday, Klodowski improved 13 strokes from his opening round score and entered the clubhouse with a season-low round of one-over par 73.

Carnegie Mellon will hit the links again for its final round of the fall season on Thursday, October 15 when the Tartans host their annual invitational at Longue Vue Country Club.
