Tartans Bring Home Hershey Cup, Jennette Wins Individual Medalist

(HERSHEY, Pa.) – For the second consecutive season, a Carnegie Mellon University men's golfer was crowned the top individual medalist at the 15-team Hershey Cup. Junior Brad Jennette (Pittsford, N.Y./Pittsford Sutherland) carded a round of 75 during the final round on Monday to finish the 36-hole tournament with a five-over par 147 (72-75) to win the event. The two-day tournament was held on the par-71 East Course at Hershey Country Club where the Tartans finished with a team score of 624 (309-315) to finish first.

Allegheny College ended 11 strokes behind the Tartans in second followed by Rochester 16 strokes back. Junior George Qian (Bettendorf, Iowa/Montverde Academy) finished seven strokes behind Jennette and tied for fourth with a 155 after carding rounds of 77 and 78.

Junior Jordan Klodowski (Kittanning, Pa.) carded rounds of 80 and 79 to finish with a 159 followed by sophomore Nikhil Mohan (Bangalore, India/Canadian International School) who fired a 36-hole score of 163 (80-83). Sophomore Adrian Del Bosque (Monterrey, Mexico/IMG Academy) rounded out the Tartans' top five golfer with a 174 (88-86).  

Carnegie Mellon had one individual enter the invitational, as junior Alexander Pomerantz (Warren, N.J./Watchung Hills Regional) finished with a 170 (88-82).

The Tartans will continue their season Wednesday, April 6 when they host the annual Carnegie Mellon Invitational.  Play will begin at 10:00 a.m. at Longue Vue Country Club.
