Qian Leads Men’s Golf at Oglethorpe-Royal Lakes Invitational

(FLOWERY BRANCH, Ga.) – The Carnegie Mellon University men's golf team carded a 300 on the second day of the Oglethorpe-Royal Lakes Fall Invitational in Flowery Branch, Georgia on Tuesday, October 4. The Tartans finished with a team score of 596 (296-300) to place sixth in a field of 17 teams. The 36-hole event is being played at Royal Lakes Golf and Country Club with par 72.

Senior George Qian (Bettendorf, Iowa/Montverde Academy) carded a three-over par 147 for the 36-hole event. The senior ended play on Tuesday with a two-over par 74 to go with his one-over par 73 from Monday.

Junior Nikhil Mohan (Bangalore, India/Canadian International School) and Sophomore Patrick Tan (Vancouver, British Columbia/Prince of Wales Secondary) both shot a five-over par 149 for the invitational. Tan entered the clubhouse on Tuesday with a career-best round of even-par 72, as he collected five birdies on the afternoon.  

Senior Brad Jennette (Pittsford, N.Y./ Pittsford Sutherland) fired a two-round score of 152 (74-77), as fellow classmate Jordan Klodowski (Kittanning, Pa.) improved eight strokes from his opening round and carded a 78 on Tuesday to end the event with a 164.
    
The Tartans had one individual enter the invitational, as junior Adrian Del Bosque (Monterrey, Mexico/IMG Academy) finished with a 148 (74-74).

Carnegie Mellon returns to the links on Sunday, October 9 when they participate in the opening round of the Kenyon BSN Fall Invitational held at the Chapel Hill Golf Course in Mount Vernon, Ohio.
