Rodgers Named Golf Pride Grips/GCAA Mid-Atlantic Coach of the Year

(ATLANTA, Ga.) – Following one of the most successful seasons in program history, Carnegie Mellon University men's golf coach Dan Rodgers was selected as the Golf Pride Grips/Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA) Division III Mid-Atlantic Region Coach of the Year.

After beginning the season on an interim basis, Rodgers was appointed full-time head coach in December. He led the Tartans to their second ever NCAA Championships appearance and first since 2009. They claimed three tournament titles and were runner-up at three additional events. Carnegie Mellon only placed outside the top six once in 11 events this past season.

The Tartans ended the season with an average team score of 303.3. The Cardinal and Gray broke 300 on 10 occasions through 25 rounds including a season-best round of 287 at the Kenyon BSN Invite at the Chapel Hill Golf Club. The team also set the school record for the lowest three round score at the BSN with a 54-hole score of 877.
