Rodgers Named Golf Pride Grips/GCAA Mid-Atlantic Coach of the Year

(NORMAN, Okla.) – Following the most successful season in program history, Carnegie Mellon University men's golf coach Dan Rodgers was selected as the Golf Pride Grips/Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA) Division III Mid-Atlantic Region Coach of the Year. This marks Rodgers' second regional honor after receiving the same accolade following the 2017 campaign.

Rodgers led the Tartans to the program's best finish on the national stage when the Tartans finished 11th at the 2019 NCAA Division III Championships. It marked the third NCAA Championship appearance and second in the last three seasons for the program. Rodgers also coached the first Tartan to be named a PING First Team All-American in Jason Li, as the sophomore finished the championships 11th individually, which was the highest individual finish in program history.

The Tartans ended the season ranked seventh nationally by Golfstat and finished with an average team score of 298.32. The Cardinal and Gray carded a season-best round of 285 during the opening round of the Golfweek Division III Fall Invitational played at Raven Golf Club in Sandestin, Florida. It also marked the third lowest team round in program history.
