Senior Jason Li (Sewickley, Pa./Sewickley Academy) and junior Lindy Cornwall (Poway, Calif./Poway) have been named to the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-America At-Large Teams. Li was honored on the men’s first team while Cornwall earned recognition on the women’s third team.

Four members of the Carnegie Mellon University men's golf team have repeated as Division III Cleveland Golf/Srixon All-America Scholasr as announced by the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA). Seniors Jason Folker (Lake Forest, Ill./Lake Forest), Jason Li (Sewickley, Pa./Sewickley Academy) and Jay Milch (Mount Kisco, N.Y./Fox Lane) along with junior William Knauth (Williamsport, Pa./Williamsport Area) were all recognized for their play on the course and in the classroom.

For the third straight years, senior Jason Li (Sewickley, Pa./Sewickley Academy) of the Carnegie Mellon University men's golf team was named a Division III PING First Team All-American by the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA). Junior William Knauth (Williamsport, Pa./Williamsport Area) was named to the second team while senior Jason Folker (Lake Forest, Ill./Lake Forest) also repeated as an All-America receiving honorable mention status for the second straight season. This marks the second consecutive year that the Cardinal and Gray had three golfers receive All-America recognition.

Four Carnegie Mellon University athletes were honored by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) as At-Large Academic All-District selections. Two golfers were selected to the men’s team, senior Jason Li (Sewickley, Pa./Sewickley Academy) and junior William Knauth (Williamsport, Pa./Williamsport Area), while junior Lindy Cornwall (Poway, Calif. / Poway) from tennis and sophomore Michelle Cao (Johns Creek, Ga./Northview) from golf were selected to the women’s team. The honor is the first for each of the four.

Seniors Jason Li (Sewickley, Pa./Sewickley Academy) and Jason Folker (Lake Forest, Ill./Lake Forest) along with juniors William Knauth (Williamsport, Pa./Williamsport Area) and Henry Scavone (Birmingham, Mich./Birmingham Seaholm) were named to the 2021 PING Mid-Atlantic Region team.

Alex Pomerantz, a 2017 graduate, is on track to earn both his MD from Harvard Medical School and his Master’s in Public Policy from Harvard’s Kennedy School in 2022. His goal is to work in pediatric emergency medicine. His passion lies in the intersection of health and policy, and it stemmed from his childhood in New Jersey – he grew up in a few different communities, one of which was not like the others.

For the second consecutive year, senior Jason Li (Sewickley, Pa./Sewickley Academy) of the Carnegie Mellon University men’s golf team has been named by the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA) as a finalist for the NCAA Division III Jack Nicklaus National Player of the Year Award presented by True Spec Golf. The Nicklaus Award recognizes the top players at the Division I, II, III, NAIA and NJCAA levels.

All five members of the of the Carnegie Mellon University men’s golf team that competed at the 2021 NCAA Championships and led the team to fourth-place finish, the highest in program history, have been honored by the University Athletic Association (UAA). Seniors Jason Li (Sewickley, Pa./Sewickley Academy), Jason Folker (Lake Forest, Ill./Lake Forest) and Ben Huber (Hampton, Pa./Hampton) along with juniors William Knauth (Williamsport, Pa./Williamsport Area) and Henry Scavone (Birmingham, Mich./Birmingham Seaholm) were named to the 2021 UAA Men’s Golf All-Association Team.

Men's Golf Finishes Fourth at 2021 NCAA Championships

The Carnegie Mellon University men's golf team turned in the program's best finish at the NCAA Championships when the Tartans finished fourth on Friday with a score of 1,179 over four rounds. The Cardinal and Gray carded their best round of the championships in the fourth round with a seven-over par 291. The 2021 NCAA Division III Championships were played at the Oglebay Resort & Conference Center in Wheeling, West Virginia with the final round on the par-71, 6,857-yard Speidel Jones Course. In 2019 the Tartans placed 11th, 2009 finished 22nd and in 2017 placed 31st.

The Carnegie Mellon University men's golf team played the par-71, 6,857-yard Speidel Jones Course in the third round of the 2021 NCAA Division III Championships on Thursday at the Oglebay Resort & Conference Center in Wheeling, West Virginia. The Tartans carded a team score of 302 and have a 54-hole score of 893 (+45) and are in sixth heading into the final round on Friday morning.

The Carnegie Mellon University men's golf competed in the second round of the 2021 NCAA Division III Championships on Wednesday and carded a 291 (+11) as team on the par-70, 6,661-yard Palmer Course at the Oglebay Resort & Conference Center in Wheeling, West Virginia. The Cardinal and Gray have a 36-hole score of 591 (+27) which places them fifth in a field of 37 teams and advances them to rounds three and four of the championship event. Following play on Wednesday, the field was cut to the top 18 teams and the top six individuals not on one of those teams.

The Carnegie Mellon University men's golf team opened play at the first round of the 2021 NCAA Division III Championships on Tuesday. The Tartans shot a team score of 300 (+16) on the par-71, 6,857-yard Speidel Jones Course at the Oglebay Resort & Conference Center in Wheeling, West Virginia and are for fourth in a field of 37 teams following the first 18 holes. Illinois Wesleyan University leads the championships after the opening round of play with a 290.

The Carnegie Mellon University men’s golf team has been selected to compete in the 2021 NCAA Division III Men’s Golf Championships. The championships will be held May 11-14 at the Oglebay Resort & Conference Center in Wheeling, West Virginia on the Jones Course and Palmer Course. The Presidents’ Athletic Conference along with Bethany College will be hosting the four-day event.

Senior Jason Folker (Lake Forest, Ill./Lake Forest) of the Carnegie Mellon University men's golf claimed individual medalist honors at the 36-hole Wynlakes Intercollegiate in Montgomery, Alabama, at the par 72, 6,979-yard Wynlakes Golf & Country Club Tuesday afternoon. The Tartans placed second in the 15-team field tying the school record for the lowest 36-hole tournament score of 570 (287-283). The Cardinal and Gray tied the 36-hole performance from September 2017 at The Links at Spring Church during the CMU Fall Shootout.
