Men's Golf Opens Play at Tiger Invitational

(PINEHURST, N.C.) - The Carnegie Mellon University men's golf team, ranked-fourth in the latest Division III Bushnell Golfweek Coaches Poll, opened its 2021 season on Saturday afternoon at the Tiger Invitational in Pinehurst, North Carolina. The two-day, 36-hole event is being held at the par-72, 6,925-yard Forest Creek Golf Club on the north course. Following the open round, the Tartans are currently in eighth in the 14-team field after carding a team score of 300.

Senior Jason Li (Sewickley, Pa./Sewickley Academy) leads the Tartans after carding an even par round of 72. Junior Henry Scavone (Birmingham, Mich./Birmingham Seaholm) entered the clubhouse on Saturday with a three-over par 75 while senior Jason Folker (Lake Forest, Ill./Lake Forest) sits one stroke back of Scavone with a 76.

Junior William Knauth (Williamsport, Pa./Williamsport Area) carded a 77 with senior Jay Milch (Mount Kisco, N.Y./Fox Lane) ending play with an 82

The second and final round will be held on Sunday at 10:00 a.m.
