Li leads Tartans after second round

Tartans Compete at Second Round of Jekyll Island Collegiate

(JEKYLL ISLAND, Ga.) – The Carnegie Mellon University men's golf team continued play at the second round of the 54-hole Jekyll Island Collegiate Saturday. The Tartans are currently in fifth after 36-holes of play with a total of 602 (293-309) after carding a 309 on Saturday. The three-day, 25-team event is being played on the 6,700-yard, par-72 Pine Lakes Course on Jekyll Island.

Senior Jason Li (Sewickley, Pa./Sewickley Academy) led the Tartans with an even par round of 72 and currently is sixth individually with a 142 (70-72) in a field of 133 golfers.

Junior William Knauth (Williamsport, Pa./Williamsport Area) is second on the Tartans with a 36-hole score of 147 (67-80). Junior Henry Scavone (Birmingham, Mich./Birmingham Seaholm) carded a one-over par 73 on Saturday afternoon and sits one stroke back of Knauth with a 148 (75-73).

Senior Jason Folker (Lake Forest, Ill./Lake Forest) will enter play Sunday with a two-round score of 165 (81-84) while senior Jay Milch (Mount Kisco, N.Y./Fox Lane) has a 176 (89-87).

The third round of the event will be held Sunday, March 21 with the first group teeing off at 8:00 a.m.
