Tartans Compete in Round Two at Golfweek DIII Spring Invite

(HOWEY-IN-THE-HILLS, Fla.) – The Carnegie Mellon University men's golf team carded a 308 in the second round of the 2021 Golfweek DIII Spring Invitational and are in third in the 12-team field with a 36-hole score of 607 (299-308). The 54-hole event is being played at the par-72, 6,755-yard El Campeón Course at the Mission Inn Resort & Club in Howey-in-the-Hills, Florida.

Senior Jason Li (Sewickley, Pa./Sewickley Academy) continues to lead the Tartans with a 36-hole score of 144. The senior carded a 75 on Saturday to go with his three-under par opening round score. Li currently is third individually in a field of 60 golfers.

After carding three-over on the front nine, junior William Knauth (Williamsport, Pa./Williamsport Area) fired a three-under on the back, including recording an eagle on 17, to end Saturday's round at even par 72. Knuath will begin Sunday's round tied for fourth individually with a 147 (75-72).

Junior Henry Scavone (Birmingham, Mich./Birmingham Seaholm) fired a 76 for the second round and has a 156 (80-76). Senior Jason Folker (Lake Forest, Ill./Lake Forest) has a 36-hole score of 161 (76-85) while senor Ben Huber (Hampton, Pa./Hampton) has a 164 (79-85).

The third and final round is set for Sunday morning with the first group teeing off at 8:00 a.m.
