Tartans Card One-Under Par to Open Play at Wynlakes Intercollegiate

(MONTGOMERY, Ala.) – The Carnegie Mellon University men's golf team competed in the first round of the Wynlakes Intercollegiate in Montgomery, Alabama on Monday, and carded a team score of one-under par 287 and are third in the 15-team event. The 36-hole event is being played at the par 72, 6,979-yard Wynlakes Golf & Country Club.

Senior Jason Li (Sewickley, Pa./Sewickley Academy) and junior William Knauth (Williamsport, Pa./Williamsport Area) both entered the clubhouse on Monday with a two-under par 70. The two are tied for fifth individually heading into play Tuesday in the field of 71 golfers.

Senior Jason Folker (Lake Forest, Ill./Lake Forest) carded a season-best round of one-under par 71 and is tied for eighth while senor Ben Huber (Hampton, Pa./Hampton) and junior Henry Scavone (Birmingham, Mich./Birmingham Seaholm) each fired a 76 in the opening round.

The second round is set for Tuesday with a 9:00 a.m. CT start.
