Folker Wins Individual Medalist at Wynlakes Intercollegiate; Tartans Place Second Tying School Record for Lowest 36-Hole Score

(MONTGOMERY, Ala.) – Senior Jason Folker (Lake Forest, Ill./Lake Forest) of the Carnegie Mellon University men's golf claimed individual medalist honors at the 36-hole Wynlakes Intercollegiate in Montgomery, Alabama, at the par 72, 6,979-yard Wynlakes Golf & Country Club Tuesday afternoon. The Tartans placed second in the 15-team field tying the school record for the lowest 36-hole tournament score of 570 (287-283). The Cardinal and Gray tied the 36-hole performance from September 2017 at The Links at Spring Church during the CMU Fall Shootout.

Folker, who recorded his first collegiate medalist honor, carded six birdies on Tuesday and 10 for the tournament to lead the field of 71 golfers. The senior shot a five-under par 67 in the closing round, tying his career-low round, to finish with a six-under 138 (71-67).

Senior Jason Li (Sewickley, Pa./Sewickley Academy) tied for second with a 141 (70-71) after carding a one-under 71 Tuesday. It marked his seventh round of 10 played this season of recording par or lower. Junior William Knauth (Williamsport, Pa./Williamsport Area) tied for ninth with a 143 (70-73).

Junior Henry Scavone (Birmingham, Mich./Birmingham Seaholm) carded a round of even par Tuesday and shot 148 (76-72) for the event while senor Ben Huber (Hampton, Pa./Hampton) had a 36-hole score of 151 (76-75).
