Scavone Leads Tartans 'B' Team at 36-hole Guy and Jeanne Kuhn Invitational

(MEADVILLE, Pa.) – The 'B' Team of the Carnegie Mellon University men's golf program competed at the annual Guy and Jeanne Kuhn Invitational. The two-day, 36-hole invite was played at The Country Club of Meadville and was hosted by Allegheny College. The Tartans carded rounds of 331 and 306 for a 637 and finished ninth in a field of 13 teams.

Senior Henry Scavone (Birmingham, Mich./Birmingham Seaholm) carded a four-over par 76 Monday afternoon to finish with a 156 (80-76) to head the Cardinal and Gray. Junior Brian Li (Beijing, China/Blair Academy) finished the 36-hole event one stroke behind Scavone with a 157 after firing rounds of 80 and 77.

Junior Joshua Braverman (Naples, Fla./Community School of Naples) carded back-to-back rounds of 80 for a 160. On Monday, sophomore Jack Sonne (Cincinnati, Ohio/Cincinnati Hills Christian Academy) improved 19 strokes from his opening round 92 to enter the clubhouse with a one-over par 73 and finished with a 165. Senior Aaron Silverstein (Fairfax, Calif./Sir Francis Drake) shot a 179 (91-88) over the two-day event.

The Tartans will next compete at the Wabash Invitational that is being played at Broadmoor Country Club in Indianapolis, Indiana October 4-5.
