Tartans Open UAA Play with 3-2 Loss to NYU

(PALM COAST, Fla.) – The Carnegie Mellon University men's golf team competed at the University Athletic Association (UAA) Championships on Saturday in a four-team match play format. The 2022 championships are being played at Hammock Beach Resort on the Conservatory Course in Palm Coast, Florida. In the opening round, the Tartans faced New York University and fell to the Violets 3-2. Hammock Beach Resort Conservatory Course is a par-72, 6,776-yard course.

Senior William Knauth (Williamsport, Pa. / Williamsport Area) defeated Andy Yang 6-and-4 while freshman Justin Chan (London, United Kingdom) picked up the Tartans other point. Chan recorded a 2-and-1 win over Chris Lee.

The Tartans will now play the University of Rochester on Sunday.
