Men's Golf Places Sixth at 2022 NCAA Championship

(HOWEY-IN-THE-HILLS, Fla.) – The Carnegie Mellon University men's golf team finished sixth at the 2022 NCAA Division III Championship on Friday with a score of 1,196 (+48) over four rounds of play. The 72-hole championship event was played on the par-72, 6,744-yard El Campeón Course at the Mission Inn Resort & Club in Howey-in-the-Hills, Florida.

Methodist University won the national championship with a four-round score of 1,168 (+20). Andre Chi of Methodist was crowned the individual medalist after carding a four-under par 283.

Senior Jason Folker (Lake Forest, Ill. / Lake Forest) led the Tartans with a 294 (75-72-74-73) and tied for 13th individually. His round of 294 is the third best four-round score in program history.

Senior William Knauth (Williamsport, Pa. / Williamsport Area) recorded the fifth best four-round score in program history with a 296 (69-76-77-74) and placed 18th. Freshman Justin Chan (London, United Kingdom) ended his first championship with a 302 (71-76-75-80).

Seniors Joshua Lim (San Francisco, Calif. / Lowell) and Henry Scavone (Birmingham, Mich./Birmingham Seaholm) close the season with a 309 and 318, respectively, after both firing rounds of 79 on Friday.
