(MUSCLE SHORES, Ala.) - The Carnegie Mellon University men's golf team competed in the second round of the 54-hole The Visit Florence Intercollegiate on Monday and carded a round of 287. The Tartans hold the top spot on the leaderboard in the 12-team field with a 36-hole score of 572 (285-287).

How it Happened:

  • Junior Justin Chan led the Cardinal and Gray on Monday with a three-under par 69. The junior has a 36-hole score of 142 (73-69) and is tied for fifth individually in a field of 62 golfers.
  • Senior Brian Xu fired a round of even par 72 and has a 140 (68-72) to lead the Tartans over the first 36-holes as he currently is in fourth.
  • Sophomore David Zhang carded a round of even par 72 in the second round and has a one-under par 143 (71-72) heading into the final round.
  • Heading into the final round, freshman Ryan Dannegger has a 147 (73-74) following his round of two-over par 74 on Monday.
  • Sophomore Jay Saluja fired a two-over par 74 on Monday and has a 151 (77-74).
  • One individual competed for the Tartans with senior Stephen Dai having a 36-hole score of 159 (81-78)
