Tartans Robbed Late in Double OT Game

(CARLISLE, Pa.) - The Carnegie Mellon University men's soccer team dropped a hotly contested match at Dickinson College on Saturday, September 7 by a 2-1 score in the last few seconds of the second overtime period. The #25 Tartans are now 2-1 on the year while the #17 Red Devils improved to 3-0.

Dickinson got on the board early in the fifth minute and later won the game in the final two seconds when Alred Hylton-Dei scored an unassisted marker.

The Tartans, who tied the game at 1-1 in the 77th minute on senior Matt Sarett's (Huntersville, N.C./Cannon) second goal of the season, played down a man for the final 17 minutes of action after a player received his second yellow card for the game two minutes into the first overtime period. Senior Max Tassano (Bala Cynwyd, Pa./Lower Merion) earned the assist after his shot attempt was saved by Reed Milbrath.

For the match, the Tartans put 11 shots on goal as Milbrath made nine saves for Dickinson with Jeremy Palcan making one.

Carnegie Mellon will look to rebound on Sunday when it plays Elizabethtown College on the road at 2:00 p.m.
