Rice finished with nine saves for the game, earning his first shutout of the year.

"We knew that opening the UAA season at Chicago would be a challenge," head coach Brandon Bowman said. "Although it would have been great to come out with a win, we are proud of our effort to come away with a point on the road."

The Tartans will return home for their second UAA match on Saturday, October 11 when they host Washington University for a 11:00 a.m. showdown.
