#21 Tartans Top Westminster to Remain Undefeated

(NEW WILMINGTON, Pa.) - The Carnegie Mellon University men's soccer team, ranked 21st in the nation, traveled to Westminster College on Friday, September 16 for a 7:30 p.m. contest and defeated the Titans, 2-0, for its fifth win of the season in as many games.

Senior Andreas Fatschel (Seven Fields, Pa./Seneca Valley) put the Tartans on the board first when he finished a corner kick by sophomore Anthony Gulli (Warrenville, Ill./St. Joseph) with his head in the 33rd minute.

In the 57th minute, the Tartans added to the score with a goal by sophomore Greg Bellwoar (Devon, Pa./St. Joe's Prep). His shot came after a corner kick by sophomore Philip Petrakian (Redwood City, Calif./Sacred Heart Preparatory) and went off the keeper before finding the back of the net.

Junior Alec Lam (Upper Saddle River, N.J./Northern Highlands Regional) earned the victory in goal for the Tartans, making four saves for the night.

The Tartans will next play at home on Monday, September 19 when Allegheny College visits Pittsburgh for a 7:00 p.m. match.
