(SALISBURY, Md.) – The Carnegie Mellon University men's soccer team opened the 2019 season on the road at the Salisbury Elmer Lord Memorial Soccer Tournament hosted by Salisbury University. The Tartans topped the host school, 2-1, behind two first half goals.
Senior Elliot Cohen and junior Patrick Kollman scored for the Tartans who surrendered a goal early in the second half before keeping the advantage for the final score.
Cohen's goal came in the 11th minute while Kollman scored four minutes later.
Junior Alex Singh earned the win in goal for the Tartans and gave up the goal in the 59th minute to George Fotiou.
The Tartans will next face St. Mary's College on Saturday at 1:00 p.m. at Salisbury.
