Tartans Drop Tough Road Contest by 1-0 Score

(WILLIAMSPORT, Pa.) - The Carnegie Mellon University men's soccer team traveled east across Pennsylvania to face a strong Lycoming College team for a non-conference matchup before starting University Athletic Association (UAA) play next week. The Tartans dropped the contest, 1-0, against the Warriors after dominating shot totals in the second period.

An evenly played first half saw the Tartans put one shot on goal while the Warriors put two shots on goal.

The Warriors were able to break through the Tartan defense seven minutes into the second period with a goal by Kalu Ume.

Following the goal by the home team, the Tartans got eight shots on frame but all were stopped by Warrior keeper Kevin Kelly. Three of the shots were taken by the Tartans in a four-minute time span with the final two coming in the last 10 minutes of play.

The Tartans will travel to Waltham, Massachusetts, to face Brandeis University on Saturday, October 5 at 1:30 p.m. for their next contest.
