Tartans Drop 1-0 Contest to #6 Chicago on the Road

(CHICAGO, Ill.) - The Carnegie Mellon University men's soccer team visited sixth-ranked University of Chicago on Sunday, November 3 for a University Athletic Association (UAA) game. A late second-half goal by the home team dropped the Tartans, 1-0, and moved their record to 6-8-1 for the year and 2-4 in the UAA. The Maroons moved to 10-1-5 and 6-0.

Junior Alex Singh (Golden, Colo. / Lakewood) made two saves in the first half with another shot by Chicago saved by the team in the 34th minute.

Chicago fired two more shots on goal in the second half that were stopped by Singh before senior Elliot Cohen (Solana Beach, Calif. / Canyon Crest Academy) had a shot attempt stopped in the 68th minute.

The goal for Chicago came in the 79th minute when Kameron Boyle served a free kick that was headed in by Richard Gillespie.

The Tartans will close the regular season on Saturday, November 9 at Case Western Reserve University (6-7-4, 0-4-2) at 3:30 p.m.
